Heidi Swap Daisy Mask Tutorial

Welcome to my first Product Spotlight tutorial. I hope this will be a regular feature to this blog and if you have any idea for future products, just let me know by leaving a comment or email me at mizbizibee@gmail.com

The February Product Spotlight at And Bear Makes 3 are those fun Heidi Swaps Masks and Clear Unmounted Stamps. When I saw these masks I thought they would make great backgrounds for card making. And with their repositionable sticky backs, you can use them over and over.

To make the card above, you will need

Heidi Swap Daisy Mask

Heidi Swap clear unmounted Play stamp

1 sheet of Bazzill Raindrop card stock cut in half.

1 white 5:"x7" (A7) top fold card.

Distress inks-dusty concord, faded jeans, aged mahogany and peeled paint

Colorbox chalk Prussian Blue ink

2 chunks of Cut N Dry foam

Sukura clear Stardust pen (not shown)

mounting tape or pop dots (not shown)

Carefully remove mask from contact sheet taking care not to stretch the mask. Do not throw away contact sheet. Arrange mask on half sheet of raindrop card stock. Press around the edges firmly.

Apply dusty concord ink using the white side of Cut N Dry foam. To apply ink, use circular motions with medium pressure around the center of the flower. Continue with faded jeans ink and move outward to petal tips and beyond.

Next apply aged mahogany ink darkly to the flower centers then more ink lightly elsewhere. Fill in background with peeled paint. Review ink distributions for balance and add more if needed.

Remove mask and admire your way cool background sheet! Okay, enough admiration, time to move on. Return the daisy mask to the contact sheet, remember the one I told you not to throw away?... okay, go get it out of the trash can and listen better next time! Wipe off any ink from mask and return to cellophane package for your fantastic future creations.

Pick a favorite area of your daisy card stock and trim to fit on the white top fold card. Attach to card and trim any uneven edges. Shade card edges with Cut N Dry foam and faded jeans ink.

Attach 'Play' stamp to acrylic block and ink with Prussian blue ink. Stamp on raindrop card stock, trim closely with detail scissors.

Outline letters with Stardust pen and attach to card with mounting tape or pop dots.

Hey there! nice card, well done Grasshopper.

And for those that can't locate these cool Heidi Swap masks, (and believe me you will want all of them!) Just contact And Bear Makes 3 and those great ladies will make your mask and rubber stamp dreams come true! I promise.
