Valentine Remake

I joined swap to make a Valentine without using the usual Valentine colors of red, white or pink...even purple is used a lot. This sort of took some thinkin'....yep, all my tired brain cells had to hold hands and try real hard! I'm highly infatuated with this new black and cream printed paper by Samantha Walker. It's such a classic design and you get a bonus of the reverse print on the opposite side. Next I stamped my most favorite new background stamp Mosaic by Judi Kins on mint green card stock in Versamark watermark ink then brushed with silver Pearl Ex. The letter stickers were applied with mounting tape to create various heights and silver peel off corner swirls for a bit of glitz. I think those tired old brains cells do okay, hope you do too.

Never Lose Hope

As promised in my last post, I said I would present this card that was published in the Spring Take Ten. I almost didn't recognize my little lost child as I sent this card in over two and a half years ago. Yes, you read correctly, two and a half. So if you sent a lovely creation in and it's been a while, never lose hope. They just might surprise you and print that baby.

I still love this card, which isn't always the case after months of separation. The background tiles were made by heat embossing a background stamp in silver on black card stock. Then cutting the background into various sizes of squares and rectangles. I arranged them on the card front around a quote image and lastly throw in a few die cut hearts for some pizazz. Simple concept with great visual appeal. This is a birthday card that would work well for a guy or a gal, which is always handy to have in your card box.

Take Ten Time

Well stampers it's that time again. You know that magically time that only happens four times a year. Yep, you are correct, it's Take Ten time. I was pleasantly surprise this week when I found in my mail box the spring issue of Take Ten. I was very pleased to see this set I designed last spring for Take Ten. These cards are a generous size of 6"x 6" and use Basic Grey Lily Kate papers that were all the rage last spring. All the images are Stampington except for the last card, the flower image is Wildflowers by DP Artworks and you can go to their web site but clicking the link to you left.
Next I will post the other submission that made this issue of Take Ten. Stay tuned.

Kits that contained cut and scored card stock, envelopes and pattern papers, even a stamp and embellishments to make six cards. But wait! And if that wasn't enough, it was all packaged in the coolest, trendiest gift bag with a tag? Got your attention now don't I?

Charmed, I'm Sure

So it is getting close to Valentine's Day and I thought it might be time for something to fit the theme of lovers. I designed this card using Charmed stamp by DP Artworks for a recent Mission Possible day at the shop And Bear Makes 3. It's a great Valentine card without using traditional Valentine colors of red and white. Yet it looks very chic and vintagey. The Charmed image was stamped on vellum, punched and edges shaded with Distress Tattered Rose ink, as was the edges of the pink striped paper. Sorry, can't remember the maker of the quote stamp. Email me and I will get the name for you. I even know a great little shop that can mail it right out to you! What could be better? hum?... maybe chocolate? Stay tuned.
